This video will teach you everything you need to know about iPhone battery replacement. The teaching process only takes 4 minutes, but that actual repair process will take anywhere from 30-45 minutes, depending on how careful you are being. make sure to keep your screws organized!!

This video will help you change your battery when the battery life stops being sufficient for your needs. Be careful! It is fragile. Especially the screen ribbon cables. Do not twist or bend those in anyway.

DO NOT use heat to remove the battery!
At the end of the battery by the charger port is a black strip that is connected to the mounting strips holding the battery to the case. The adhesive strips (2 of them) are elastic bands with adhesive on both sides.

Procedure:
Disconnect the battery connector from the motherboard.
Carefully lift the black strip from the end of the battery (near the charger port end) and using even force, pull the strips towards the charge port horizontal with the battery. The strips will elongate (like a rubberband) from under the battery releasing the battery from the case. Use constant even pulling force and the adhesive strips will release the battery from the case with ease.
Then simply lift the battery from the case.
It's so easy, you'll want to do it again! :)

I’m an IT fella but I referred to this video for a snapshot instructions. It greatly helped and made the swap easy without me forcing or breaking anything...that pesky battery is something. A gentle introduction of heat and leverage popped it right out. I found it best to get under one side nearest edge of phone and keep the leverage going in the same spot. My replacement battery came today (I used your link, thank you) and everything worked a treat! The old battery really didn't want to come out... it was bent near in half by the time it pulled up, but the phone was un-damaged. I can't thank you enough for this tutorial. Thank you for the helpful tutorial. Because of this video, I was able to order a brand new battery & confidently replace my battery with 100% success! My girlfriend was discouraging & said I should’ve just gone to the Apple store when I was having a hard time removing the battery (which is definitely the hardest part) but once I removed & replaced it, everything else after was easy, not to mention before. When my phone turned on it made my day!

Thanks for this helpful concise video. I would add that you can pull the two white sticky pieces out from under the original battery instead of using heat to try to warm up the glue strips. I don't like applying heat to a battery. Also, I'd recommend that the original battery be discharged as much as possible before removal, as it is not terribly difficult to pierce that battery as you (carefully) lift it up to access the glue strips. Those white glue strips actually stick together pretty well. When you grasp at it with a small tool, try not to let it rip, but if you get a big enough piece started, the whole nine yards will come out, with patience. Ensure you dispose of properly according to local regulations.

Great vid, thanks! There's a much easier way to tackle the tape on the battery. There are two "tails" of the tape wrapped up on the bottom of the battery. Carefully peel them down and gently pull the tape towards the bottom of the phone. Just like a 3M command strip, the tape contracts and releases as you pull. Super simple.

Awesome, thanks for the instructions. I watched the video once and then turned off phone to replace battery. Piece of cake and only cost me $20 buying parts through eBay. Then read some comments from jerk offs who like to contradict methods but would never create a video to help, they only complain. Thanks for being a doer and a great example of someone who takes initiative.

I just changed the battery on my iPhone 6s, largely with the help of this video (I also got a great deal of help from the guy at the Interstate battery store). I was scared as hell of breaking the screen, but went patiently while consuming vast quantities of rum and water, and used a razor blade to pry the screen off. What an adventure. A good tip I found, if you don't want to remove the screen and have to deal with all of the video connectors (which was a huge nightmare for me with the crappy tools I had) is to just wrap a roll of duct tape around the screen when it's at a 90/80 degree angle to hold it out of your way. Will save you a LOT of time and avoid unnecessary work.

I just replaced the batteries on my own and did it in about an hour after struggling to take off the battery from the tape. I couldn't remove the said 'tabs' other commenters mentioned about. But I found warming the backside of the phone with a hair dryer helped me move on from the struggle I was having.
