I’m trying to convince my High School niece to learn how to do this herself.
She will be cable to fix her own phone when she breaks it, fix her school-mates phones when they break it and maybe even earn a bit of extra pocket money.

Well done Hugh, on making entertaining and educational content and sharing what you know.

The person who disliked the video probably broke both of the battery adhesive 😂

Writing this comment on an iPhone 5 I got for 18.07 on eBay. You really inspire me Hugh!

This is one of the only videos that show how to install the protective adhesive on the iPhone 6s.
Thanks HG for your detailed repair videos.

I just replaced my battery and display using Hugh's stepthrough. Here's some points:

1. It took me about 2 hours and I have changed the battery before so I have some experience. Still I didn't anticipate the difficulty of the display replacement process and how much attention you need to pay to every step. Make sure you watch the video at least once before trying the operation yourself, and visualize the steps!
2. The heat shield for my phone has 3 screws on the right side (not 2 like he mentions) so in all i had 7 screws for the heat shield
3. When you put back the heat shield pay really good attention especially to the top screw hole, it needs to be to the right of the screw hole on the display! The screw goes first through the shield hole and then through the display hole.
4. Make sure the connector for the home button is not trapped under the headshield when you put it back!
5. Make sure the wide part at the top of the display goes under the head shield
6. Pay really close attention to the module with the ear speaker and sensor etc, there are a lot of parts, watch the video very closely! Depending on the replacement you buy you will have to remove some plastic film in order to expose the glue that will hold together the module.
7. When you disconnect the 3 top connectors for the display, on the back case of the phone there might be some glue residue left around the connectors, make sure that doesn't get in the way when you try to put in the new display.
8. Put in the blue frame glue after you have put in the battery and after you have done a test fitting for the connectors!! It will prevent your hands from sticking to the double sided tape.

9. Watch out when you reconnect the home button to the connector, first you need to place the connector in it's little space and then connect the home button connector which itself needs to go in a specific position.
10. Be very patient, have good lighting and don't rush it! I had to remove the heat shield 3 times due to things I looked over.
11. Only do this if you can afford to lose your phone. If it's your only phone or you really need it, just go to a repair shop; yes, you'll pay more but you'll have the guarantee it works after!

Thank you! I just repaired my Brother's iPhone 6, without this, we could've paid more for repairing in a third party repair shop. Although we bought repair tools, which contained like everything, for only $4! Which is amazing! and battery and LED.

Little tip for the battery. I do these all day working in a repair shop. Remove the tab slightly then drop some isopropyl alcohol on the tab, this will cause it to slide under the battery loosening the adhesive and lubricating it.
