Y'all's theology is SOLID. I have spent a large amount of my time as a believer talking with atheists and agnostics, many being ex Catholics and Christians from very traditional or very pentecostal churches (nothing in between) and they ALWAYS go to saying if God is real, he wouldn't have done X or he would be okay with me doing X. Frequently those things are letting Hitler get away with killing so many Jews, or being okay with homosexuality. Or I hear Christians get upset over God wiping out people groups in the Old Testament. What an age to be alive where people are bold enough to question their God who used to zap people down with lighting for doing so! He created the world including our mere existence, and he didn't have to. We as humans are sinful and did not choose him, and we even sent him to death on the cross. After all of this, he still offers us free salvation. We deserve nothing but eternal damnation, yet he offers our sinful selves eternal salvation. How dare we ever question his fairness.

Why would we think that we would know what's fair more than God? The question was asked by most if not all of the major prophets, and the conclusion was always that they themselves did not know what was fair, but God always does.

It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

God is the standard of fairness. We are all sinners who deserve death and hell. How are we sinners in ANY place to question Him?

The doctrine of election is not an easy one to receive but I stand with Tozer's description of the sovereignty of God.

John 8:11
She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

Romans 4:8
Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

God is Love and when we grasp that we’ll see He is more than fair

Yes, God is fair. He is perfect and just. On judgment day, no one will get fleeced. The innocent will truly be innocent, and the guilty will truly be guilty. There won't be any snubbing or anyone going to hell on a technicality. God's judgement will be completely fair.

This is completely a calvinistic viewpoint. God does not just draw the elect God draws all to him.

What do you mean by fair? It could be argued that if God was fair he wouldn't have sent Jesus to die for our sins. And God showing us mercy that we don't deserve is technically unfair. The word "unfair" is not always negative because it can also include grace and mercy.

Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

John 6:37
All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

I just got hit in the head with a Calvinist stick, and it hurts. I believe God draws us to Him if we open our hearts to Him, which is a choice. Jesus told his disciples to go out and preach the Word, so we could make a decision after hearing it.

Predestination is not compatible with free will... And it is God's will, that "none should perish". Every soul will be confronted with the existence of God, as Paul said we are "without excuse", just by observing nature... If through observation, man becomes aware of God, the Holy Spirit will move within that soul, providing, at least once, the opportunity to receive or reject salvation. Souls are "predestined", in a sense, by the foreknowledge of God, from eternity past, of the choice each one will make... Everyone will be given an opportunity to exercise their free wiil, concerning Salvation. However, no one is predestined to heaven, or hell...

It is all past tense we are not sinners but sons and daughters of daddy God.
We don't deserve punishment or the lake of fire now. Because he has made us all new a new creature. A new heart a new nature a new spirit a new body soon Amen
How can a sinner preach the gospel thank you Jesus for that knowledge amen

Personally I have always struggled with this concept. I get the point that we all deserve hell because of sin And because of that God isn't fair because hes giving us a chance to get into heaven instead of paying us our dues and sending us to hell. On the other hand of that argument though God-created the universe and put us in it and then allowed satan to tempt us. There was no prior warning About satan coming to tempt them about the tree. I feel like God kind of leads humanity to darkness especially when we call out to him for help and don't get an answer and then he expects faith to be what saves us. I've never seen, heard, or talked to the lord but have seen his works in my life. not enough. I'm not sure If I believe in and try to love God because if not I will go to hell if it's because I truly want to understand him. I do think it's more logical to say God exists than not....however that doesn't mean he cares about us 100% of the time

So Im a little confused- cannot find a solid answer- maybe someone can help? Are some ‘chosen’ AND everyone has the capability to believe and be saved? Or are some chosen, some are not- and hence some are predestined to second death?
