It’s a comfort knowing that there is no reason to think that the evil and immoral god character from Biblical mythology ever existed.

Even ignoring God's omniscience and the inherent inequality on Earth, etc. the dichotomy of heaven and hell is inherently unfair.

I'm so grateful to have discovered (over the past 15 years) that I am not alone in thinking this way.

God if he exists clearly plays favorites

As a teenager reading about how god had his chosen people, I knew something was wrong 😑

If someone is religious you already know logical arguments are doomed to failure

Sad to realize that theists feel that religion gives them comfort. When in fact it fills the mind with psychological horror. Religion gives comfort to a mind tortured by religion. 🤷‍♂️

I'm surprised I don't think I've heard anyone use an analogy of how terrible a parent would be if they acted like the God of the Bible.

That's christian unconditional love.

I just had this conversation with a calvanist. It blows my mind how he can't see how immoral that is

You still try to get them with logic! Admirable! The good thing with these shorts is that most of the time we don't have to listen to the ridiculous excuses, explanations, justifications and in the end (the pigeon kicking the chess figures over the board) the claim that we just don't understand - God, the Bible, their belief, whatsoever ...

It's not playing favorites. If both act the same, they are treated the same. If one is always on time, does his/her chores, never talks back, etc. The other one drinks, steals, rebels, etc. Should I treat them the same?

So much pain this man’s voice. Just know, A life without God is no life at all. God is merciful and Loves all of us. God bless.

Most Christians are sympathetic toward authoritarianism. Loyalty and obedience to God and their leaders, religion, traditions, us vs. them, a power and privilege hierarchy pyramid ...is of all their world view consists. Examples involving fairness and equality is antithetical and superfluous.

Their jaws drop like you are communicating in Greek. Gods and their leaders are expected to confer rewards, favor, pardons, and privilege to the tribe (Christians) in exchange for loyalty and obedience.

Can you not understand how fairness and equality would make their sacred world view without personal benefit.

The whole system is predicated on favors and exceptional treatment. Is there any question why our economic royals would prefer a religious system that more closely emulates their economic policies which give them preferential treatment, pardons, permanent tax cuts, and privilege?

Everything involving fairness and equality... is a slippery slope to radical Marxism.

Oh, but Paul was all ready to justify that:

"But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? “Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?’” Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for special purposes and some for common use? What if God, although choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath—prepared for destruction? What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory—"Romans 9:20-23

So, I guess we're just the common pottery and oh well. Such a benevolent and loving god huh?

Yet one day no matter what we all will stand before Christ. Whether you believe or not

if God loved us.. he would do enough to make sure we all believed so we could all get in to heaven... the fact he doesn't suggests that if he was real he is willinginly sending his own children to hell.. .even good decent people.... because they don't believe in him
