Being tired and cranky isn’t a privilege, those are called human emotions, and they exist whether you acknowledge them or not. Refusing to let a kid be honest about how they feel sets them up for a really shitty life, and they will have to figure it out on their own later.

This kid evidently has better parents than that. Nicely done.
