*My daughter drinks lots of water and urinates with the same rate, there are no other symptoms to show if those have anything to do with diabetes. This is a good information that I have gone through **Diabets.Care** She is 2 years 9 months, hale and healthy, have not done any blood test. But I am not certain if one can get diabetes at such a tender age. Please I will like to know more on that*

Thank you Armando, this is a clear explanation. Have you done a video for Hyperglycemic Hyperosmolar Nonketotic Coma? Another (unrelated) video that I would like to suggest is about autonomic dysreflexia. I find your videos helpful and use them in my teaching in paramedic class. Keep up the good work.

My mum died from this. Her autopsy showed she had pneumonia and bronchitis which caused diabetic ketoacidosis 🥺 we all had the cold at the same time so we thought that she only had a cold but we were terribly wrong.

I went exactly through all of this before I was admitted to the ER. I was hours away from a comatose. So thank you for helping me learn more about my diagnosis.

I went into keatoacidosis once. I can say that so far, it has been the single-handedly worst experience I’ve ever had in my life. It all happened overnight so I didn’t have any idea until I woke up (a Saturday so i didn’t wake until around 11 am). Constant vomiting, nausea, and exhausted for about an hour until my parents rushed me to the hospital. I recovered quickly but it definitely makes me very anxious when my keytones go above 0.1, even though that is a fairly safe keytone level.

Due to how long my keytones would’ve been high for (at least 8 hours), I feel lucky for having made a quick and full recovery from it. Thank god for free healthcare.
