Preparations for Changing Boot Drive
1. Your current Windows PC with an HDD
2. A new SSD with enough capacity for your Windows installation
3. A SATA-to-USB adapter or an internal SATA connection
4. Reliable Cloning software (we'll be using EaseUS Partition Master)
5. A backup of your important data
Phase 1. Initialize New SSD
Step 1. Download and launch EaseUS Partition Master from the official website.
Step 2. Enter the Partition Manager tab.
Right-click the new SSD and select "Initialize to MBR" or "Initialize to GPT".
Step 3. Click "Execute Task" and "Apply" to save the changes.
Phase 2. Clone Windows OS From HDD to SSD
Step 1. Navigate to "Disk Clone" section. Click "Clone OS Disk". Select the new SSD which you want to clone the current disk to and click "Next."
Step 2. When you see the warning, click "Yes" to confirm the SSD clone.
Step 3. Then, click "Start" to begin after you see the layout of the destination disk.
Phase 3. Change Boot Order in BIOS Setup
Step 1.Restart the computer and press F2/F10/Del key to enter BIOS.
Step 2. Then, switch to the Boot tab, set the new SSD as the boot drive from the boot priority section.
