Pink Water and Meat in a Coconut Good or Bad?

Lindy opened a young coconut and found very pink water and slimy meat! There are many beliefs on the Internet so to put it to the test Good or Bad? I did drink the pink water from the coconut and did not get sick! The taste is a little different from the fresh clear coconut water. I do prefer the clear water it tastes the best! If you get a pink one then that means that the raw coconut water contains naturally occurring variations of antioxidants such as phenols, that can make it turn pink. The coconut water with the highest levels of antioxidants are those which may take on a pinkish color. That makes pink coconut water better than the other one!

Whenever I've bought a batch of coconuts one of them has always been pink/lavender/purple... I think it happens when the actual coconut inside cracks slightly.
I've always consumed it and not once had an incident.
They have never tasted bitter or sour.
however there is less meat and the flavour isn't as intense creamy and buttery as the white/golden ones.
however use tour own intuition if you don't like/trust the taste then throw it.

I don't know if I should believe them, but the companies that sell bottle coconut water say its because it has higher antioxidants. Sounds fishy to me. A lot of bacteria turn red/pink colors like that, and when coconuts are real young the three holes are actually soft and I could see it becoming insterile like that. They're too slimy for me to eat and I generally throw them away. Swear they have a funny taste too...

Just opened my first pink coconut. I was supriesed 'cause I didn't know that that can happen. I actually didn't worried about good or bad. Just tasted it and it was beautiful like always. =)

that's a very old old coconut, the good one have clear juice and everything inside suppost to be white or look alittle bit like jello

Thank God! I just poked a hole in it and drank it. It tasted wonderful (I bought a white one once that tasted rancid I drank a little then tossed it) anyway I cracked it open AFTER drinking it. It was pinkish purple brown. I freaked out because there was a tad of mold on the husk from the plastic but it didn't go through. Maybe it's the lack of oxygen in wrapped coconuts. Anyway I read so much I almost induced vomiting but it was so good it couldn't be bad. I'm deciding between eating t g e flesh or throwing up and taking charcoal.

If the young coconut is pink then it has gone bad. if it has recently gone bad then it will probably not yet have a bad smell or taste. Do not drink it. Return it to the store and exchange for another.
