He’s so right, teenagers are treated like garbage by their parents because they’re “not doing well enough”. They’re still learning and developing.

Problem is I kept enjoy myself to 30 I did this. Now I'm trying to figure the things out that a parent never gave me because I had none

My brother is 16 and I’m 27. I sent him this video to let him know to take a deep breath and take some time for himself but also to figure himself out as well and figure out what he wants to do with his life, I took a year off my mistake was I didn’t do anything with it. Now one year turned into almost a decade and I’m at the same spot I was trying to play catch up. Our age doesn’t define us and who we are it’s how and when we start our journey that MOLDS us into who we will be. I hope he takes the year off but I’m rooting for him to be way better than I was

I told my son you don't have to go to college right after high school... you can go anytime you want... you're gonna find out, though, that you can make more money with a degree in your holster than without it. He's nearing 40 and has achieved, and been working, in an underling position to the Chief Financial Officer for 15 years, got married started of family, and wifey is making the dough, and now, he/they has/have the double dough to live well and go to college, mostly online and on camous at S.M.U. Dallas.

There is no set path. There's only life, and it works better if you roll with the tide, picking up things as you go and always swim parallel to the shore when the riptide tries to get ya. In a sink or swim situation, always be determined to make it to the shore - one way or thuther !

I took two years off at 21 due to health issues, all I got was contempt, guilt tripping and harassment.
Also mockery and humiliation, even though it is an extreme illness that I am still healing from. It is really hard. Who do you think will show you compassion if you don't show it to yourself?
Strangers showed me more compassion and actively seeked to help me, I thank them for trying.

This is actually a very nice idea.
When i have my own kids, i will share this idea with them and then it's their choice.

Oh, dear! I punched in a couple of spelling and punctuation corrections, and I lost my Highlighted Comment status on the comment below. I'm kinda proud of it on this subject. I'm a single mom, and I did it all with no support... got a big head for a few hours because that comment was highlighted. I thought I should fix my mistakes because it was highlighted. I was feeling a little self-conscious when I re-read it. I have bad eyes and didn't catch it the first time cuz my eyes were too blurry, and I and I was relying on Google voice to type it.

Cranstons a legend, love his work and I think he’s right here. A teens frontal lobe isn’t fully formed until early adulthood usually, meaning they tend to make rash decisions that could come back to bite them, so what if they don’t entirely think their career through and go into something they don’t like for the rest of their life?
