Non board game related comment, sorry: Hi all, we are massive Taylor Swift fans, and were due to see her perform two nights in Vienna, which was cancelled due to a planned terrorist attack. There are only a few dates left on the tour in North America and second hand tickets cost thousands of dollars. If you, or anyone you know ends up having to sell their tickets, please consider directing them our way as it would mean the world to us. Happy to pay over face value! Sorry for the interruption to your board game content!

Hey great video. For rule clarification, and a lot of people are getting that wrong. You don't make any noise. You enter a room and you check if you can hear anything. That is why you can enter a room through corridor no. 1 and get noises out from no. 3.
Further that is the reason why when you move into a room with an companion you do not need to roll, because he already checked if there are noises around. Or if you trigger an encounter you can get a blank, what means the noises you heard were noises from the machines. I personally find it much easier to teach to new players, because it makes more sence.

I agree with your conclusion, I own and have played both, I have to say, owning both definitely isn't necessary at all unless you are a superfan and want to mix components. In a nutshell lockdown is a direct replacement/upgrade. The only reason to buy nemesis over lockdown is that you really really really prefer the theme of being on a ship to recreate alien vs being in a facility on mars.

We never played Nemesis, as coops aren’t our huge thing, but always wanted to! Finally getting to soon, as we’re getting s copy of Lockdown today! Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for making the video 🥳

I prefer classic Nemesis. Alien being one of my fav movies, the ship setting just hits a personal sweet spot for me.

I might have missed it but you didn’t mention the app that will be coming for Lockdown. The app will let you play solo with a trader element. We like core nemesis 2 player co-op and 3 player as semi co-op. I live in the USA so we haven’t received Lockdown yet.

Heya! Really heartfelt message from us here: Please, please consider subscribing or recommending us if this was helpful to you. As a channel we've always grown at a good rate, but the last month or two our subscriber growth has significantly dropped for the first time, despite the fact we've released some popular videos & our Buyer's Guides consistently do well day to day.

Around 80% of our viewers are not subscribers. If you're one of those people, please consider helping us out. We do all this for a love of the hobby and the community, and as such we've never had a Patreon or asked viewers to support us financially. All we want is your subs as this makes it more likely we'll be able to collaborate with publishers and designers, and in return bring you more content!

Thank you so much - Farrell & Tallie

Great video guys! I dont have either but I'd likely get Nemesis only because I don't think I could handle an even more complex game and the Aliens theme is so iconic

Just found your channel, I'm loving the clear detail with a smattering of personal opinion, a well walked path between objectivity and subjectivity that many fail to find . Thank you.

I have bought both board games, my experience in playing the first nemesis is easier to play for people who want to try for the first time. The skill cards of the original nemesis players are also simpler compared to lockdown. Their weaponry is also much better. As for lockdown, there are many new things, the character skills are also unique, the shape of the map, and the monsters that attack in the dark, making it very easy for you to die when playing in the game.

It took me and my friend a few plays to start gradually understanding how to survive in lockdown. Ah and also, the weaponry in this game is so bad that a character with a flat dmg number feels better than the gun you get in the red card. Lock down in my opinion is better choice for players who are used to playing nemesis (although you can immediately play lock down) . for those of you who like to play among us there are various skill and environment gimicks to be able to eliminate other players. While the original is simpler to play and easier to introduce to new players.

Can you use the Lockdown characters in original Nemesis?

My copy of Lockdown just came yesterday going to painting some of them tonight I think 😊 I also need to see if I can get my GF to play sometime ha I hope they will have some kind of solo play at some point. (I haven't had to much of a chance to look though the books yet) I wanted to get the original for so long but couldn't get it like most but then they said they would be bringing it back out and in retail along side the lockdown and I made the choice to just get lockdown at the KS between just cost of buying stuff for that time and it seemed a bit more better for lower player counts. I also like how most of the Aliens can be used in both games a great way to mix things up and add more to it as well as you could just get lockdown and one or two of the or original expansions for more choice.

Any suggestions about the smaller content expansions (carmomorphs, void seeders and aftermath ) and which seems more essential?

I really needed this. Definitely want Lockdown now! Good work with this. I really like the approach and you are great to watch, as always!

Having that background transition music play every 30 seconds or so is REALLY annoying.

I mean no offense at all, but have you ever heard that you look like Mac from “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”?

Fantastic comparison just what I was looking for. Lovely storage cabinet at the back. I am looking for something similar here in the UK but I cannot find anything. Thx

I really prefer the base game, and actually used the lockdown kickstarter to pick up the base game and expansions when that was happening.
