Quilting and Crochet come together in a very satisfying way!

Today's video will show you how I go about sewing the squares for this quilt. Then adding the blanket stitched edge, before starting the crochet. Also how to join the squares together to turn it all into a beautiful quilt.
This is another project that has been waiting a while to be worked on and I'm now set up to be finishing it soon!

The fabrics are all cut to 6" square. My batting pieces are cut to 5.5"

Here is the link to the video where I show how I put my scrappy fabric together. It was part of my Advent Diary last year.

Here is the link to the crochet hook roll too. I loved the ammonite bit.

If you would like to help support my channel as I continue to make ad-free videos I have a ko-fi page here...
I also have a shop which has Green Man tote bags and a couple of free patterns...

Your vintage Bernina is so beautiful. My dad was abusive. When my mom went back to school and then to work; the FIRST thing she bought when she had her own money was a Bernina 830 (it was 1979). She ended up selling it a few years later for pennies in consequence of post-divorce poverty. She has sewn on horrible low-end plastic machines since. My siblings and I just acquired a used Bernina 830 in pristine condition to give her for her 80th birthday. I am outfitting it now with all of the vintage presser feet that will fit it that I can find. I hope it brings a sense of restoration. ☮

This video gave me the idea of using a few of my late mother’s hankies to make blocks and then crocheting them together to make a throw.

This is actually the perfect project for my mother and I because she's the quilter and I crochet! We could totally tag-team this project.

I found this spot accidentally and when I saw the squares crocheted together, I simply had to watch!! THANK YOU for showing such detail in joining the squares. Going around corners was always a bane of my existence in those little projects I dared and always needed "correction." Again, thank you.

Powder laundry soap used to come with a wash cloth in every box.
My great grandma would save them till she got enough to make each grandchild a bed spread by crocheting them together and a crocheted rose at each corner.
Absolutely beautiful gift

I am left handed, too. And I crochet with my right hand, too. That's how I learned it in school in Germany. I am so very thankful for learning all this early on. Here in the USA, it's not being taught in school which is such a shame.
I love your tutorials!!!❤👍🏻🙋‍♀️

Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful gift. I'm 65 and I always wanted to learn to quilt. I love crocheting. What could be more beautiful than combining quilting and crocheting together!! It's such a blessing that your tutorial came up on my feed. Thank you so very much. When I complete the blanket I'm crocheting. I think I will give this a go. I hope you have a blessed day!! 😊❤

Beautiful, Marion! What a lovely way to combine fabric with crochet. The little corner flowers are such a nice touch. I used to love watching mom crochet her doilies when I was little. Now, many decades later, I am able to teach teens how to crochet for their school community service projects. Isn't it nice that crochet is in vogue again! Thank you for the very clear instructions and demonstration for us visual learners!

I'm in America (Georgia) and just love listening to you give instructions. I love this blanket, especially the fabrics...so beautiful! My goal is to go through my stash of scraps (so many scraps!!!) and try this out. I've been sewing for 60 years, so you can imagine the amount of scraps I have. I hope you actually got to make some clothes for your holiday and that you have a great time away.

My mother in law started an embroidery quilt for my granddaughter. Sadly she passed away after only getting 4 of the 9 squares done. It took me a year to match her stitches. Then 10 years for my granddaughter to tell me what color fabric she wanted. It is turning out beautiful. So glad I came across your quilt. On the two bottom corners are plain and my daughter will use her cricut to put on my mother in laws name and the other my name. Can’t wait to give it to her for her 17 th birthday.
