Yes, the dog she had was a hunting dog and it has good instincts for hunting. However, Kristi forgot that the dog requires training to get good at it. They aren't born with the knowledge of how to hunt. She FAILED at training her dog and ended its life because of her failure.

What is most shocking is that she seems to be proud of this, instead of giving the dog to a vet or, I think, to a dog trainer! She Killed a goat after that, with no reason and full of hate, she seems to enjoy shooting animals.

In the book she says she killed the dog because it wouldnt learn to be a hunting dog. She could have given that dog to any rescue or shelter instead of just murdering it. Most people dont treat their dogs like employees, they treat them like family. Comparing her horses is garbage, too. Big difference between putting down a sick or dying old animal and killing your young dog because he couldnt perform the tricks you wanted. Monster.
