South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem defends killing her puppy for bad behavior

Noem wrote in her memoir that she shot and killed her year-old puppy for posing a danger to people. She's also saying Biden's dog Commander should meet the same fate

She sounds like a city girl who heard somewhere that you have to do "difficult things" if you're going to live on a "farm" and this is what she came up with. It sounds to me like the thing she was responding to was her dog embarassing her in front of a batch of important pheasant hunting guests while she was trying to impress those guests with what an earthy and "macho" lady she was. I can only imagine she was bragging the dog up before they all set out into the fields. Oh! The humiliation when goofy Cricket bounced around the field popping up pheasants everywhere = everywhere except where the hunters could take a shot. I guess she also had heard Wirehaired Pointers were great pheasant dogs. But no one explicitly told her that they had to be trained. I'll bet Kristi Noem thought it was going to be easy to fake being a "farm girl". Put on some flannel shirts, wear an outdoorsy hunting vest or jacket, get a dog, have your picture taken holding a shotgun or a rifle. Oops! Not so easy is it if you don't have a clue?!

As a former animal shelter director you call the Humane officer to check out the dog to see if it is a danger or it's just being a puppy!

If this was your’s or my dog doing that and I guarantee it would be at the pound quarantined for minimum seven days. And then still be put down to check for rabies because that’s the only true way to check an animal for rabies. That’s if in the city. Being in the country is totally different which some don’t sound like they know there is a difference in location.
