Listen I am not a shiite nor do I like to use the word sunni. You do not and should not make La'nah to any muslim. However saying رضي الله عنه is absolutely absurd for Ma'awiyah and Yazid.

When you go to one extreme, praising someone who is known to be evil and enemy, it is absolutely normal that the opposite side will go to another extreme and curse him... Sunni and shia have no balance, they just go to extremes. Muawiyah, if anyone looks at authentic sunni sources is not praiseworthy, he disobeyed Prophet and was wealth thirsty, having gold and silk in his palace, his son fought against family of Prophet and he broke the treaty that he made with Hasan and introduced new unislamic way of family inheriting the ruling chair that is still present in Saudi Arabia, ruled by Saudi family. Don't say he is unbeliever, don't say he is special. You would never honor an enemy of your father or your family, but you will honor someone who fought against Prophets family. Allahumma salli ala muhammad ve ala ali muhammad. Ameen.

Most people don’t know this hadidth about Ammar ibn Yasir, the prophet said to ammar that u will be martyred on haqq and the person who kills you will go to hell, Ammar was killed in the battle of Siffin, he was with Ali ibn Abu talib and was killed by mauwiya.

I am Sunni and the Sunni books of Ahadith who are common in all denominations of Sunni such as Sahih Muslim, Sahih Bukhari, Sunan ibne Dawood, Ibn e Maja, Tarmizi all mention the wrongs done Hazrat Muawiya..
Sahaba were normal humans and committed several wrongs and so considering them innocent is totally wrong!
