You know I’ll tell you a story as a Muslim revert. A while ago I was very sick with diabetes and sleep apnea, Alhamdulilah I’m better now with lifestyle changes. However, at the time I was at a gathering which lasted all day, I was exhausted and I began to nod off during a long lecture, rather than ask me if I was ok someone decided to film me and look disgusted at me as if I were on drugs or disrespectful.

Don’t judge someone! He could be suffering with anything, yet you choose to make a video during in someone’s intimate moment with Allah and then make a video mocking them?

Because you disagree with his positions on istigatha or whatever? What kind of Islam is this?!

The person who filmed that video lacks shame. Abu Taymiyyah has a pure heart and has positively influenced many people. The one who shared this video should be ashamed and should fear Allah. May Allah keep us steadfast and except us to Jannah.

Ibn Kathir said in his Tafsir: 

“What is meant here is looking down on them, belittling them or making fun of them. This is haram and is counted as one of the characteristics of the hypocrites.”
