It's been a year since I last showed a system that I use to measure 1 rail banks and kicks. Well today, I want to show you the very first system I learned to measure 1 rail banks and kicks. Then I'm also going to show you how speed and spin on the cue ball can affect the outbound angle of a bank.

I've been doing bank shots relatively successfully for the past few years on a tip I learned. It's so basic that I tell it to people often now. 
Try this, imagine a full length mirror on the side of the table that you are hitting the bank off to make the ball in the opposite side pocket. 
Then imagine the mirror image of the desired pocket in that imaginary mirror, (it's like looking at the bar table next to the pool table where my beer sits). Then I just shoot it at the desired speed and viola!
I think sometimes people look at me and see that I'm not lining anything up, not measuring and looking way past the actual pool table at some imaginary spot in the air and thinking I'm drunk! 
It surprisingly works a lot of the time. Give it a try!

Thanks for the vid. I'm playing in Argentina and they got some really funky rules here. Opponent get two shots if you scratch and two shots if you don't hit your ball, and two shots if you sink one of their balls. Also, the 8 ball has to go into the pocket where your last ball drops. You ever hear of such a thing? Pool in Bizarro world.

Just because I know a lot of APA players watch your channel, I want to add that leaving your cue on the table untouched is not a foul in the APA. I don't recommend it because you should always maintain control of cue when around the table so that you don't bump balls, but it is not a foul unless it bumps the cue ball in a non ball in hand situation.

That said, awesome video, I did not know this bank alignment system. I learned something today! Thanks!
