How about a flash back to the 1980s Toyota. Small light 4cyl manual trans pickup. Low cost, full bed, enough grunt to do 90% of truck things, make a 4x4 model with a v6 done. Charge 20ish, 000 for the 4cyl 2wd and just shy of 30k for the 4x4 v6 auto, done oh and you’re welcome

Enough of this crap. Bring that $10, 000 Toyota pickup to America that we've been hearing and reading about for the last few months. That's what we want. The nice basic, no bull s-hit pickup with the four cylinder gas and diesel engine.

I'll believe there's a competitor to the Maverick, when some company actually RELEASES a small truck. It's amazing how out of touch manufacturers were, to allow Ford to release a small truck and completely dominate the segment... with no response whatsoever for what is going to be a half decade before anything else hits the market.

Toyota owns the most dependable hybrid powertrain, I don't see a reason not to use it instead of an electric one.

Let the back seats fold down like that, but slide them out the door on a track.

Then, jack the drivers seat up. Of course the roof will need to jack up and pop off like a jeep.

Now put the motor on the roof and do a tailgate in the front instead of a hood.

Pop the frailgate down and flip it out 3x like the tailgate.

Boom, now you can carry 24' 2x12's and save $109 on a lumber delivery truck.
