Toyota unintentionally created the greatest military vehicle of all time.

Kudos to the mad lad who thought to just drive his truck over landmines really fast and see what happened.

Obligatory joke about how winning a war with pickup trucks was a Chad move.

Riding in the back of a pickup with a mounted machine gun going 60 across a mine field. As long as you remember not to look back at the explosion you're gonna look epic.

I want to know which Chad discovered that driving 100km/h over the land mines didn’t trigger them. So they can take the crown for King of the Chads.

Not only did Jeremy Clarkson do all that to the Toyota Hilux, his crew also put in top of a building and imploded it with the truck still on top. And even then, with the frame barely holding together, the engine still started. That even puts the AK-47 to shame

I don't know who this guy Chad is, but he seems to own a lot of trucks.

Ahh yes, the great MIC pyramid:

Boeing < Raytheon < DARPA < Lockheed Martin < Toyota

Japan has limitations on sending military aid to Ukraine. But they should just send a lot of pick up trucks and spare parts as "civilian" aid.

“Gaddafi was an anti-imperialist hero”

Gaddafi while occupying half of chads territory: yeah……. Imperialism really sucks. I’d never do any of that

My jaw is dropped, and I'm in awe! I've always loved them since my grandpa and uncle owned them in the early 80's. Now my brother and I both own tacoma's. I miss the smaller versions they don't seem in the US

Very hilarious rendition of the history of "technicals".
I owned a defense contracting company, which I started with former Daimler Benz Executives around 2000, just after the towers went down in New York City.
Bascially, we developed armor and self sealing fuel tanks for the U.S. Army.
But, in the process, we got a contract from a military organization to develop a "technical" or in this case a heavily armored Toyota High Lux for some spec ops guys.
We took a 3/4 ton Chevy Pickup, threw the body away, and mounted Toyota High Lux cab, bed and body panels on it and armored it to withstand 20mm AP at point blank range .
Funny story, the Hadjii`s [or insurgents] loved the Toyotas so much that when they received new Nissan Frontiers, or Ford Rangers as gifts from some terrorist funding organization, they would sell them and take the money and buy Toyota`s. LOL

I drove a Land Cruiser in Afghanistan and Hiluxes in a couple other countries on numerous occasions and I was sold. I was in the Army and couldn't afford a Land Cruiser stateside (and the Hilux is not easy to find here), but I overland with Toyotas exclusively these days. Outstanding vehicles.

Hiluxes are ABSOLUTELY INDESTRUCTIBLE. I Didn’t even have to watch to know what it would be. Seriously, ever seen that Top Gear episode where they tried to destroy one? They couldn’t! And they had dynamite, heavy machinery, a wrecking ball and the ocean!

Simon should get a Toyota sponsor for this video.

I bought a Toyota pick up (the hi lux in North America) in 1994. After driving an insane amount (appx 36, 000-40, 000 miles a year) and changing my oil every 10 or 20 thousand miles, at 360, 000 miles I ran her out of oil and killed my engine. I have since had several more new vehicles. None of them were as reliable as my pickup.
I trust the truck and engine so well, I bought another one, 20 years later. Great truck and I totally believe they have won wars.
Great video, as always!!!

"Technicals" from "technical assistance", in case anyone was wondering.

Canadian-supplied Hiluxes in Afghanistan had maple leaf decals on the back. Presently, Afghan fighters were seen sporting maple leaf tattoos.
