There's not just conflicting studies on rep range, but also conflicting opinions in the fitness community regarding whether you go to failure or leave 2 reps in the tank.

Awesome advice bro I agree completely. My body started getting so much better when I changed from 4x12 to training to failure at 6-8

The best rep range is the one you can do consistently 4-5 times a week for the next 10 years. 🧠

Agreed. Allows you to effectively hit failure without form breakdown or building up to much unnecessary systemic fatigue as really those lost few reps before failure are the most important for hypertrophy.

I do slow long movements 6-9 reps for strength, then fast for 9-15 reps for explosiveness and endurance, then mix it up to keep tension, and always move forward🦈today 20 tomorrow 21 never 20 again

For me, it just depends on what I'm doing, but i never go below 5 reps.

Honestly as long as you reach failure between 6-15 you’ll make gains. Intensity is the most important factor

Some might say those are little reps but I'd say they're not training heavy enough💯 great advice Brandon💪🏻

I readed in Overcoming Gravity 2nd Edition by Steven Low that rep range for Strength is 1-8 with a 1 rep max of 80%-100%
Hypertrophy is 5-15 with a 1 rep max of 60%-85%
Endurance is 15-20+ with a low intensity exercise or weight

Low reps definitely work and give fast results, but it's hard on joints and nervous system in the long run

This is why 5•5 training full
Body will blow ur body up the progression of adding more weight every session forces your body to grow cuz of your doin it rite you will reach failure number of times and have to stay at that weight till you get strong enough to make it thru
All 5 sets n 5 reps with good form

What I do is when I feel like I'm getting closer to failure, I listen to some dragon ball z hype up mixes and then there's no such thing as failure 👌😂

Studies have shown that anywhere for 5-30 reps can help you build muscle. Reasons for this large gap is muscle worked as well as genetics of the individual

So true man, last year I was doing 12 to 15 and this year I blew up a lot in the gym since I started doing a shorter rep rage

Facts 8 reps with solid form vs squeezing out 4 more that are half a!!

This is the best advice any new lifter can take!

You want to achieve failure as fast as possible so 6-8 reps is perfect because the last 3/4 reps are the effective ones so it is just impractical to have a high rep range
