Literally my stepdad. When we moved countries he was literally like "No, we're not getting any pets" - the moment we brought home two tabby-mese cats (a mother and her kitten) he was smitten for them, especially the kitten, Kato, who ended up becoming his fricking soulmate. This rescuing of these two cats later spawned into us rescuing 18 cats whilst abroad...

Unfortunately, Kato was killed last year by wild dogs when we moved to Bahrain, and Mr initial "no pets...no! 😠" was heartbroken for *days.* I've literally never seen him so sad; he never cries yet throughout the week after Kato's passing he had about 3 emotional breakdowns. He didn't just lose a cat - he lost a best friend.

I remember when my Uncle sent my dad a kitten from the farm, he was furious. I can still hear my Uncle laughing on the other end of the phone whilst dad was yelling at him.
About two weeks later the kitten had taken to sleeping on dad's bed and you could hear dad asking if the kitten was comfy before saying goodnight to him. 😄
