Ryzen 9 7950X Fails to Meet 6.3GHz Clock Speed Goal

We recently tested the Ryzen 9 7950X processor from AMD and expected it to hit a target of 6.3GHz when overclocked. Unfortunately, we weren't able to meet this target, as the processor maxed out at just 6.1GHz.

Compared to Intel's Core i9-9980XE processor, the Ryzen 9 7950X falls short in the single-threaded performance department. While the Intel processor was able to achieve a single-threaded frequency of up to 5.5GHz, the Ryzen 9 7950X was only able to hit 4.1GHz.

In this video, we'll examine exactly why the Ryzen 9 7950X failed to meet our 6.3GHz target, taking a closer look at its technical specifications and how it performs against Intel's Core i9-9980XE. We'll also discuss what these results tell us about the potential of AMD's Ryzen 9 7950X processor.
