There is no greater honour than guarding the tombs of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their nation.

I was like oh hell no thinking he was about to do a TikTok dance. If we start seeing tomb guards making TikTok we might as well just hand the country over

He walks out to his shift.

Respect though. I’ve been active duty for 13 years and I could never do what they do. Discipline to the max.

I have never been there but have watched many videos and have never been in the service. I can only bow my head and wish these men only the most respect and highest of honer for their service time at the tomb of the unknown soldier.. I am hoping to get to see the folks in real time some day. I always thank and say welcome home to any veterans I happen to come across every day. The time they spent to make all our lives what they are now.The least I can do. Please stop tearing at our country using the rights that our military men AND women have strived for US citizens to be able to have. Thanks to all who have served weather by choice or drafted.

Discipline, respect and honor……..it’s ceremonial in itself but truly has a sense of duty that will live on forever.

highest respect for these young soldiers, especially given they're mostly junior enlisted with more maturity, honor, and allegiance than 90% of the nco corps in my air force today

Man I respect these guys more than I can put to words… no curse words would fit… only praise for these young men and the hard hard hard heavy oh man so heavy a job before them. These men protect our fallen and their spirits… how can a regular citizen like myself ever know such honor? I can not imagine the deep inner torment one of these young men would put themselves through if they ever even stepped one toe in the imperfect position… they are hero’s among our hero’s… thanks boys. And thanks for understanding that heavy duty you were chosen for… I salute you as an American

My brother currently serves in the old guard as a sentinel. He takes it very seriously, we understand how much of an honor it is to serve there. I go and visit when weather is very bad and make sure those sentinels on duty get good food and plenty of water and Gatorade. I always make sure to respect the land as much as I can. I’ve even volunteered every summer to help clean and keep tidy the tombstones. It’s the least I can do for those who died for my rights and my freedom. Thank you to all the sentinels who give their service guarding those who gave everything for us.
