You explained it well and I’ve watched many videos about it. I play guitar and it was scaring me. I have had a splint on it for a few weeks now and I tried massaging the area you said would have a “nodule” that was the missing piece. I can feel it and I’m now going to start working it down hopefully! Thank you and best wishes to you and your channel.

Six to seven months after carpal tunnel surgery all required exercises have been done but then trigger thumb and pinky finger problems started. Will see my surgeon regarding this issue. I like what you suggested to help my thumb catching and I will try that. Will see what else my doctor suggests but will check regularly on your advice. Thank you very much.

Thank you so much for the info, especially about the massaging. I am using a quite firm stress ball on both hands and it really feels good. Thank you.

Surgery releases the A1 pulley thereby allowing the nodule freedom to move with no resistance. (surgery does not remove the nodule)

Wow this worked, thank you, I told my doctor about this and she didn’t know why this was happening and went to a massager and they said it’s nothing

Thank you, I do have a question: the problem with my left thumb trigger is that it does not want to bend forward so it is getting difficult for me to grasp items. Do you recommend any particular exercises for it? My doctor is recommending the surgery you mentioned but I would rather try alternative methods.

Hi Doc, Great explanation. My 1 year old kid has trigger thumb. Should I try conservative exercises first or any other recommendations ? What is the recommended age for surgery?

Is injecting a special enzyme, called collagenase, into the hard lumps and cords that can soften and weaken the nodule? If cortisone is not working?

Hello Eric! Thanks for tips. I just started to have this trigger thumb.. I’ll try those exercises. Question: is it better not to move for some time or keep moving. My work with number typing. It’s not bothering me to type, but in the morning when I wake up.. I have pain and snaps with pain. Pls give me more advise - move or not move my thumb ? Thanks again

Do you do the massaging and friction during the four week period that you are wearing a splint? Silly question: Do you remove the splint while doing the massaging and moving of the thumb?

Where would the adhesions typically be if it's more like a snapping wrist? My wrist snaps if I extend my thumb and try to move the hand in more like a handshake manner. not sure if dequervains or the snapping wrist came first, but the snapping occurs in the dequervains "area"

My thumb is stuck. It sometimes accidentally bends, but it hurts bad when I move it back.
