Transforming Our Garden From Pathetic To Perfect

Our garden was struggling to survive through the extreme temperatures of the summer heat and the powerful winds of tornado season. It then had to bear the cold of an arctic blast. Now, as the rainy season sets in, we can reflect on how we transformed it from a pathetic state to perfect.

This is my 4th year - I’m excited to grow a lot of things - trying to find the perfect salsa tomato 😂. One thing I will not be growing again is probably cauliflower. It is not worth the real estate and the battle against cabbage loopers for me

Loving this spring so far. I got an Early jump this year and the garden is more than half planed and sprouted. Growing strong. Gardening for 7 years now. Love growing peppers in Texas heat and blueberries. I don't grow beats anymore, they're easy but upset my stomach.

I wouldn't call the starting garden pathetic but you definitely improved it. We are adding a lot more thyme in our garden. We will be able to use some of your methods over in our micro orchard 2 area. We already have a soil test kit and meter so no sweepstake entry for us.

I started helping grandparents and my Daddy in the garden from a young age. I have always had gardens in my adult years . I would say I have over 50 years of gardening growing experience, but have a lot to learn still . I love growing the usual tomatoes, peppers, onions, garlic, herbs of all kinds. I also grow a lot of gardens to feed animals, now that I have the chickens I will grow more even for them . I will never grow habanero peppers again, too hot . I got some seeds last year that were suppose to habanadas so I could have the flavor without the heat but when my cousin bit into one and started sweating and his mouth was on fire I quickly decided nope, not again .
I also have a house plant fetish . I have over 60 house plants and trees in pots that I keep small so I can bring them in because they are tropical and won't take the cold . My husband has been great to put up with all my craziness and obsessions .

Sounds to me like you want to have some tymeless beds.
I will never again try to grow artichokes. I remember hating to weed the family as a kid when I was child in the late 1950's. I just planted the cauliflower, some basil and a few onions yesterday.

This is my daughter's second season taking over the garden. She's in love with tomatoes, cucumber and melons. Of course all the greens for the geese and ducks. We will NEVER plant mint of any kind again.

I started growing 5 years ago being successful with a couple tomato and pepper plants mostly. This year I’m expanding what I grow. I really want to grow some rosemary. I really haven’t ruled out any plants yet, haven’t grown enough.

Used to vegetable garden when our kids were small. Started again about 3 years ago. Love my medicinal herbs, enjoyed growing Shishito peppers, sun gold tomatoes, fingerling eggplant, & African blue basil last year. Have tried to grow figs for 2 years - not sure they’re worth trying to grow again. Didn’t. Have much success

Hi just found your channel and subscribed with 5 mins.
What a great channel. I am currently binge watching all your videos but not yet found the results of the tomato test from last year. Looking forward to seeing how you fared.
Being from England and having a limited area in my back garden, I love how you can expand your garden whenever you feel or when you need more room to try new crops.
Your garden is looking great for the start of the new season and I look forward to what the year brings for you and your family and also your channel.
Keep up the great work😀

This is going to be my first time growing something “legally” 😅 I’m hoping it’ll transfer into growing my first tomato and cucumbers I just finished making my worm tower going to be placing them in my garden later tonight Good luck to everyone this season ✌️

This is my 2nd year with raised garden beds. I have been gardening in containers on and off for years. Grew up with my poppop's garden and always wanted one of my own. Every year I look forward to growing different tomatoes. One thing I will never grow again is Habanada peppers. I didn't like the taste.

This is my fifth year and I really need to test my soil. I need to just get off my butt and just go sample the areas, its just expensive to do where I live (no free tests here) and I have 4 distinct areas to test.

I'm thinking about doing a similar in garden worm bucket. Did they work well for you?

I'm done with Brussels sprouts. They mostly end up too small to eat and just taking up space. I am trying out hot peppers this year because we've been eating lots of chili and my husband has decided he likes spicy food now.

Your garden is not pathetic it doesn’t matter the size or how it looks what’s important is growing produce that is naturally grown and there is no rules in gardening get your hands dirty in Mother Earth and enjoy and keep learning 👍😀

I will ficus on growing a wide variety of peppers and chillis as well as tomatoes and green beans. I will never grow any of the pumpkin/ sweet melon/squaush family again, since insects are desimating my crops every season. George Mc Donald, Stellenbocsh, South Africa.

I've been gardening about 4 years. Every year we try to grow a new type of tomato, pepper & cucumber. I will never grow mint in my garden again... 3 years later I'm still pulling up mint😂😂😂
