The end to this DLC leads into the final mission perfectly.

One final party, one last chance to spend time with your friends... hell, your family... one final time before facing down the inevitable... and it’s been one hell of a ride... no... the best.

I feel like the devs are emotionally attached to the characters too.
"Hey, it's probably the last time we will be working with them, so let's give them some hollywood gun-blazing and throw them a nice farewell party."

"I guess its back to the fight."
"At least we threw one hell of a party. Probably the last one."
"That doesnt sound like my girl. You will find a way to win, and when this is over, Ill be waiting for you. Best times of my life were spent on that ship. Been a damn good ride."
"...The best."

The Citadel DLC was the ending that Mass Effect deserved.

This is the last we ever see of commander shepard for the rest of eternity. It's been a hell of a ride, exploring the galaxy with the Normandy's crew, despite it being just a game, it's an experience I'll never forget. There were laughs, intense moments and tragic ones, no group of game characters have ever been able to make me feel so much for them, and Bioware managed it. Say what you will about the ending, all three games, even the third one, were absolutely amazing.

I think besides Andersons "I'm proud of you, " line, the very end of the citadel dlc is easily the best part in the game.

I played through the whole game for the first time with all the dlc, did the citadel stuff right before the ending, and in that very last moment when Shepard sacrifices himself, I remembered I had told Dr. Chakwas that we'd save that Brandy for after we won the war.

Sometimes you get lucky in life. I consider myself lucky to have discovered, lived and breathed Mass Effect. I envy those who have yet to discover it for themselves but at the same time I can't wait for them to do so. From the first game when I started a ride and never knew what was coming next to where we find ourselves now. Wondering what is next. Whatever happens I know that the past few years have been a treasured video game experience that I can repeat. As for the fourth installment? I trust that I will not be disappointed. Minds that created and grew this universe will do something spectacular again. "I've got a good feeling about this one."

This was saddest for me because it was the end of the line. five years, 100+ hours, three games. It's rare that we can care for characters like those of The ME Universe.

This was the ride off into the sunset and that can be tough.

Fucking Mass Effect. I really love a ton of video games in which i got emotional involved in. But fuckn mass effect gets me every time. It only needs a song or a scene or just a quote to bring me back into this fantastic universe. It feels like for one short moment, the world disappears, and theres just the Galaxy Map and the millions of storys. memories and feelings laying there. Fuck the end, mass effect was maybe on of the best things i ever was able to be a part of. I hope there will be the day, where people start to begin that video games are art, and that mass effect beats the shit out, of 99% of every actuall hollywood movie. Thanks Bioware.

Lol, wtf brain
