Explaining Japanese Bath & Shower Culture

Japanese baths and showers are very odd for foreigners!! Whether in a home or a spa or public bath / onsen the idea is the same. You shower and scrub clean first, then soak in the bath. In most homes, the whole family takes turns using the same bath and doesn’t empty the water between. Technology is amazing, as one would expect in Japan. They fill automatically letting off a chime to tell you it’s full, then maintains the temperature perfectly til you turn it off to drain!
