Just got back to Canada after a month long trip in Japan and all I want is a Japanese bathroom. They're life changing.

This system makes much more sense and much more HYGIENIC! This should be normalized in the West!

Thanks. I was searching for these details. It seems Japanese bathrooms are extremely considerate of function and use, yet highly tolerant of tight spaces -- the opposite of western bathrooms. Now, if we could just have both...

The tip for using a bath cover to keep the water insulated is what I'll integrate into my routine. I want the bath water to stay warm while having a place to keep my book. The cover is a great idea!

Thanks for sharing.

I wish we adopted this as the norm in America! It makes so much sense.

This looks pretty fantastic. How have Americans not adopted this stuff yet

Amazing stuff. I've only visited hotels in Japan. Toilets and bathrooms are all in one, shower in the bath, very compact but has every amenity in there. Including the steam free mirrors and multi functional taps : )

EVERYTHING!!! Except I’m not sharing tub water unless I’m the first one in, definitely not gonna be the last one in.

Very nice demonstration of how it works. Love the Japanese bathroom design. Makes perfect sense. Just wondering about where are the towels placed? Inside the washing area or outside?

The separation of the toilet and the bathtub is for families. It's so that you can be taking a bath and you won't be occupying the bathroom so that no one else can use the toilet. Beths are very common in Japan, especially in families, which is why tubs come with covers, often, so that you can save the water for the next person who wants to take a bath, which will cycle and heat up again for them, to the temperature they set it to.

0:55 Yes, gross indeed, particularly if the toilet is flushed without closing the lid. No-one in their right mind wants to try to relax in the bath while a filthy and smelly toilet is in full view. The grossest are those that have towel rails mounted right next to the toilet. 2:38 I don't live in Japan, but had a bidet toilet seat installed last year. I wish I had done it sooner. Warm water wash, wireless remote, heated seat, fan dry - what's not to love? Japanese bathrooms are awesome!

What is the size of this layout in meters? I want to have this style of bathroom (I'm not Japanese). And where does the washer dryer go? Thanks.

We have a bidet a lot like that one (U.S.) except it has a remote on the wall. Once you get one, you will never want to go back to the old ways.

Separate toilets is common in Australia too. I've always hated them together

What are the dimensions of your bathroom spaces? I loved the functionality of the bathrooms in Japan and want to see if I can fit something similar in the space I have.

The reason why they are separated and they are in Europe too... So you can use the toilet and not hog the bathroom or when you are showering someone can still use the toilet wo interrupting your shower. The American bathroom is set up so that you basically hog all the facilities when you aren't using them all
