Hi Matt. I am 75 years old and retired from the construction industry world 10 years ago. I have been a subscriber since I found your channel by accident about 2 years ago and never miss! My comment is about you. It is so gratifying to me as a man that tried to apply himself as much as possible for 50 years in the workforce. So to see you as a young man with the vision and the work ethic you have, whether on this build project or bringing equipment back to life, is very inspiring. I wish there were many more young men like you. You are credit to yourself - congratulations and good luck on the build as I watch from the retired section of the bleachers. Personal regards, stay safe and my best wishes to your family. Dennis Beamish Cambridge Ontario Canada

I second that. Big shoutout to the boys for standing behind you and getting it done. Those are the guys that get to use whatever they want, when they need it.Good work!

I loved the dual shot of digging the fill out on the hill, and laying it down on the site. Nice job.

After the bank of the ravine is removed for it's dirt, I see a nice shooting range with a great dirt backstop.

Thanks again for all the hard work you put into the videos and for taking us along for the journey 👍

Matt: "People sure are proud of their dirt."

Also Matt: "OMG everybody, look at my dirt!"

That is a first rate job. Your peers will be proud of you.
For a moment there I could have sworn you said let's dig and your dirt was perfect. Great video

Your videos are always perfect examples of "the more you know the more you know you don't know sh*t". I thought just pack a bunch of dirt, nope. There's right and wrong dirt, no organic material mixed in, then I think just push the dirt but even if I knew how to run the machine I wouldn't know what I'm doing. Your videos have kept me from leaping too far into many projects because I have a better idea of how complex they can be.

Have you thought about making a pond in where you are pulling the dirt from? I don't know how much water comes through the two entry points. But that would make a beautiful addition to the property.

Never thought I would spend an hour watching someone moving dirt and loving every minute of it. It's so close to having the shop ready to be built Matt.

Hey Matt, more hardwork from you & wonderfully supported by friends & neighbors. Matt the One Man Army was in action during the earlier part of the video & team work at the end of the video. ROSCO🐕 was moving very close to that compactor at the end credits! Hard work, love for machines at its best!❤

Matt, what a fantastic video. You not only did an amazing job moving all that dirt, and figuring out where to take all that fill from, but you managed to record the entire process which in itself is over the top incredible. Bravo on a great video and I can't wait to see the next episode of the Diesel Creek Shop Build.

I just love how self sufficient you are. Knowing how to plan and what to need for a build is one thing. Having the heavy equipment is a great thing to have. You may say you are rich in knowledge and physical stuff.

I Love to watch you fullfilling a dream you have for so long. I am from the Netherlands but i love seeing you across the pond doing what you love.

Keep up the good work!

Man, do I feel your excitement ….you’ve been talking about this for a long time. You weren’t just getting ready to get ready either. Loved how you pulled all your resources (machinery, friends/neighbors, even your own fill) to make a magic weekend hit perfectly before the rains. You even prepped the existing soil (airing it out) and removed trees in advance of pit excavating so the loads were dug on an as needed and ready to transport, spread, and roll. That pad looks amazing.

Thx for the long video, this one was definitely worth it. Looking forward to each of the repair jobs too….how about a short video about the truck that went down. Usually you give a few more details but I understand you were humping it to get max productivity.

as a guy who spent 16 years sitting behind a desk and never even seen this type of work, this was incredibly interesting and I can't wait for the next part!
I also found it funny that you did all that work while using your own equipment, big boys toys.

This was a perfect job for the bigger excavator! The smaller one would’ve taken too long! Keep up the good work man

I have done a few pole barns for customers in my past life. If you are running track equipment over the concrete for servicing I recommend getting your hands on a couple of lengths of used railroad track and embedding it in the concrete, it saves the floors and make’s servicing without used tires under the tracks much easier.

Most of us "jack-of-all-trades" feel like we can do anything we try. Watch a few YouTube videos, rent some tools and equipment, and go at it. Site prep is not one of those things, lmao. It obviously takes experience to move the earth the correct way. If I tried to orchestrate what you and your buddies did, my dream shop would eventually slide down the hill into the creek. Awesome video! I learned a lot in an hour.
