The uni is also very popular as a method of joining main lines to leaders. You're basically tying a uni onto the main line with the leader and a uni on the leader with the main line. Then the two knots simply jam together when you pull out the gap between them. Not the strongest connection knot out there, but very compact and easy to tie correctly.

ok, its the single line version, than my favorit knot is called the double uni knot.

Putting the tag line through the loop 5 to 7 times is NOT ENOUGH. I just hooked a good size fish this week, and it straight pulled my knot loose somehow.

It wasn't more than a 10 to 15 pound fish, and my drag was loose enough to not snap the line. Then it went limp, and when I pulled in my line my hook was gone and my 65 lb test line was not frayed. It looks like it just pulled my knot loose, and I am STILL PISSED.... 😖

I used to tag my loop 7 times, but now I'm going to tag the loop at least 8 to 10 times this time, because if I lose another fucking fish like that I'm going to go ballistic!! 🚀 💯
