How to tie a Uni-to-Uni Knot (a.k.a. Double Uni) by PENN

Показать описание
The Uni-to-Uni Knot is a simple and strong way to connect two lines. Ideal for attaching leader lines such as fluorocarbon or monofilament leaders to a braided mainline.

Remember to always wet your line before tightening as friction can weaken line and cause it to break. This is especially important on fluorocarbon lines the are easily damaged by heat from friction.

1. Place the ends of the two lines next to each other.
2. Wrap the leader line 4 to 5 times.
3. Wet line and pull the 1st knot tight.
4. Wrap the end of the mainline 4 times if tying mono to mono. (Wrap a total of 8 turns if tying braid to mono or fluoro.)
5. Wet line and pull the 2nd knot tight.
6. Ensure that the line is wet between the two knots. Then grasp both leader and mainline, and pull tight.

I have tried many other brands over the last 50 years but I always go back to Trilene Big Game on my trolling rods. Strong, durable and long lasting.

It’s a Double Grinner Knot, invented by English angler Richard Walker. The Uni bit came later in the US.

Held up very well all season for salmon. Very little trouble with this line.

Every time I tie this knot the braided line pulls straight through the mono when I test it. What am I doing wrong?
