Does it really change your ride? - Cushcore Tire Inserts - 90 Second Review

If you've been thinking about these here's my opinion after riding both versions for quite some time. Hopefully I was able to squeeze enough solid info into 90 seconds. If you are a Clydesdale, stop thinking about using these. It's an absolute game changer for us big guys. If you are just wanting some rim protection, the XC version is great for that. If you are a smaller rider, the XC version may do some of the suspension, cornering, and dampening that I the pro does but for someone my size I couldn't tell a difference using them.

Absolutely agree, as a bigger guy it gives so much support but I actually tried it first for my sons bikes as they were bending rims beyond repair and pinch flatting constantly. Not one issue since cushcore, and after installing on three bikes I got the hang of it.

Cush core is a lifesaver for anyone who owns a DH bike. I’d say for trail it depends on your weight and riding style. Wouldn’t blanket recommend it for everyone. However, love that feeling of trying to rip your tire off in a corner with the foam pushing back.

I run CC in the rear tire. I pinched a few tires in the past on the sharp rocks here in Phoenix, after installing cush core 2 years ago, no more issues.

I totally agree that CushCore is a game changer for the performance of your bike. I have used a few others but CC stands above the rest with the material and quality. With the price of tires and rims, you want to protect your investment too. If you’re not smashing rocks and popping of features on the trails then in my opinion you are missing the point of mountain biking. If you are just trying to build and ride a stupid light bike then maybe it’s not for you. I don’t notice the weight because I don’t have any bikes that I built as light weight nor do I ever use 2.1” or 2.3” XC tires. I actually just put the gravel CC on my gravel bike with 700x50c tires. I guess that is my stupid light XC bike lol.

My only experience has been running this product on my hardtail. I can run lower pressures ~20 lbs and it helps smooth out some of the trail chatter. I am selling out tho for a 29er full SUS and have been wondering if I will need CC. I don't have the new bike yet but was planning running without CC to see how it feels.

I bought them last season. I am now a firm believer. Tire feels more progressive in and out of corners as well as smoother over chatter. I will say it's not cheap tho
