Archaeologists Find Preserved Fetus in Newly Discovered Mummy

There is a special radiology machine at the Department of Archaeology at the University of Warsaw in Poland -- one that x-rays the bones and organs of the dead, rather than the living. It is part of the Warsaw Mummy Project, that was established in 2015 to study 40 ancient human and animal mummies that were kept in the National Museum of Warsaw. The project’s mission? To study diseases that might have occurred in antiquity, including bone diseases, metabolic disorders, vascular issues, parasitic diseases and cancer.

I still don't understand the fascination with taking corpses from their resting places, and then displaying them... With their beliefs, they're supposed to be worshipped, depending on social status... So, the fact that they don't have food offerings, or any offerings, is not really honoring their wishes in death.
If you're going to take someone's corpse out of their resting place, use proper etiquette.

Can they not take multiple pictures and have a 3D model made so as to not remove and destroy the mummy and the unborn baby? With the technology we have it should be possible to make a 3D model of the baby and a clear model of the uterus to showcase next to the mummified mother and baby so as to preserve them untouched and not damaged for display purposes. They don’t normally remove or take apart mummies unless there truly are no other options but we have the capability to do things differently
