Big changes for Boeing's future deliveries have been announced following China Southern noting that they would be removing plans to welcome 100+ 737 MAX aircraft in the future into their operations. The question is how much of the order reduction is due to government issues with the MAX and how much is because traffic demand is down and will remain down until the government stops with the persistent lock-downs.

China Eastern delaying the delivery of 100 x MAX aircraft into the distant future may be good news for O'Leary. He's been quite impatient to get the MAX'es he's ordered and was recently rubbishing Boeing and their leadership in frustration over the delivery delays. May be this will speed up some MAX deliveries to Ryanair.

hmm everyone keeps saying 100 = max aircaft with china southern but when you look into it china southern has 24 737-8s pluse 26 to be delivered so i dont know where this 100+ is coming from

I know that there were be a dogfight between American Airlines and Southwest Airlines to take those 100 planes.

If it looks like a duck, quackes like a duck. It is a duck. What has not been said is what the status of these 100 aircraft, if they were options, they were never on the books.
If on the other hand, they were orders, it will be a chunk out of the delivery schedule. If they are built, or being built they will need to be re-configured, but if they havn't been started, I'm sure some airlines will jump in to take the delivery options early, but this could be the start of a trend, of the Max's orders starting to be cancalled in China, due the pandemic & they now have their own aircraft to buy.
