In Queen’s Shadow Padme’s sister gives birth to a child who definitely seems to have been planned. A husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, or partner of any kind is never once mentioned, despite Padme visiting her and meeting the baby.

My interpretation was that on Naboo it was just perfectly acceptable for a single woman to have a child if that’s what she wanted, and asking about the father would be considered poor form.

Obviously she didn't want anyone to know that Anakin was the father, but I didn't think her pregnancy was a secret. Obi Wan says "Anakin is the father, isn't he?" He doesn't say "You're pregnant with Anakin's child, aren't you?" It doesn't ever really seem to be implied, that the actual pregnancy was a secret.

And people who did know most likley thought it was Rush Cloves' baby. They were in a prior relationship and died soon before so he wouldn't be there to confirm or deny.

I think the fact that she spent a good chunk of her life wearing larger than life gowns and elaborate hairstyles also helped. People were so used to her wearing these outfits that nobody questioned her baby bump.
