The Big Picture : Afghanistan - Uncertain times

In this episode of The Big Picture based on Afghanistan: Uncertain times. Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla said on Friday that the situation in Afghanistan is fluid and uncertain. Speaking at a virtual conference organised by Public Affairs Forum of India, the Foreign Secretary listed the withdrawal of US troops and the Taliban’s relentless pursuit of power through violence, including targeted assassinations and capture of territory as reasons for triggering the uncertainty. His comments came against the backdrop of the U.S. having completed the withdrawal of more than 50% of its troops from Afghanistan well ahead of a September deadline, and violence by the Taliban having increased despite talks with the group at different forums. We will analyse with experts the situation in Afghanistan, what it means for Afghanistan and the Afghan peace process and also the larger implications of a worsening situation in Afghanistan in the entire region.

situation will be uncertain after withdrawal of US Forces and it would be worse for the the entire region, the main aid and assistance of US to afgan in the field of air power here several stake holder having stake in the air power, but overall US assistance is huge. As we see our history when ever the territorial boundaries of western part were weaken our ruling authority always getting threat and always weaken our power. The western part is strategically very important for us to maintain our territorial integrity and sovereignty. Here question arises what india will do after the withdrawal of US. India has several challenges now these days in one front china and second one Pakistan, for military support we not in the situation to help through military, despite this situation we can give technical and aid support to afgan military to modernise the Forces.
