You’re the first person who’s mentioned getting the right width. I have boots that were the best fits out of “many”. Not once did the salesperson measure the width of my foot, seemed they were getting exasperated because nothing fit. Watching this, obviously the boot store was a one size fits all. I’ve tried everything except steaming the inside. Many thanks

60 years ago an old cobbler/boot repairman told me "fill your tub with warm water, add teaspoon detergent (to break surface tension of water) and toss the boots in and let soak about 4 hrs, or untill the leather is totaly soaked. Drain, then, using the socks you normaly wear, put them on and wear/ walk in them until they dry. Helps to change socks several times. Must wear until they are DRY. They will fit like a glove. One day breakin versus weeks of blisters. I have never had a blister in the last 60 years. Best advice i ever got!

Slide the boot over a broom stick or shovel handle and bend the toe and work the boot. Works almost instantly.

Any idea on stretching the ankle? I have a pair of Justin’s that fit good when they’re on, but putting them on and taking them off is a battle

Besides the boot stretch spray or steam is there a silicone product you recommend that would make the boot easier to slide on and off?

I obtained a vamp stretcher....now, on to the steam. The spray relaxant treatment didn't work for my job.

I ordered a pair of Ostrich boots online. I had spoken with the sales rep and I had asked him if they were D or EE width and he assured me the were 9.5 D width which is what I was looking for. They show up and say B width. I tried them on and they fit tight. I got them for half off retail and they are discontinued and cant find my size anywhere else. Hopefully I can stretch them out, I did notice that if I remove the insole they fit a bit better and also the insole is labeled/stamped 9.5D while the shaft and box say 9.5B. Hopefully this works.

What about a tight on the vamp pair of lizard skin boots? Can steam be used on this type of leather or is there some other method? Thanks

I just got some Anderson bean elephant boots. The gentleman helping me out said I should go UP a half size. So I did and the boots fit great….. except, they are very hard to get off. I’ve been wearing them every day day for less then a week. So my concern and question is. Will my boots get easier to get off the more they get broken in? And is thee anything I can do to widen the part just by the ankles?
