2 years ago, a 19 year old guy came to my personal coach and said he wanted to play basketball. (he was 6'9, always wanted to try playing). With in a year he was playing professional for my state (i live in australia). He is now playing Euroleague. Never let someone tell you its too late.

I gave on basketball when I was 14 after my father passed. He was my mentor, coach, and trainer. It's a year later and I've suffered quite a lot of depression, I feel as if basketball will be my only way to connect with him again. Thank you for enlightening me that it's not to late.

I'm 44 & for the first time in my life, I'm respectable on the court. Couldn't play in my teens. Stunk when I played in my 20's. Started working on it 2 years ago just to get in shape & am dramatically better than 20 yrs ago. I'm not good but I'm at least competent. It's a step. I'm still working on my game too!

There is not an age limit is what Dre is saying. AGE IS RELATIVE and a social construct to keep people from reaching their dreams, its a MENTAL GAME that society plays on us and its a mental game by the universe to see if you REALLY want it, thats my opinion

I don't believe it's ever too late. My story is something everyone freaks out about. Never in my life have I played basketball competitively. My parents said to focus on my education. Said it would get me further. Even though I never was on a team, I'd shoot for four to five hours, workout in there too everyday. I just love the game more than a lot of people I know. I was a lanky 6'8" 198 lb senior with no idea where to go to college. Around April last year, I take a campus tour at a university and someone there comments on my height. He says I should talk to the coach there. I do. We get along fast, and he said "You can't teach height. I'll give you a chance to walk on." Pre season workouts come, and I bust my butt in everything I do. I might not have made all the times, been the fastest, the most athletic, but coach saw I'm giving everything I have to get better. He kept me on the team. He sees that since then I made so much progress from where I am, now I'm backup center at 6'9" 245 lbs. I'm only getting started, but it's never too late man. Never let anyone tell you that.

Age is when you wake up your 40 something and can still run, jump, dunk, shoot the basketball far better than the rest of them. Bet I could dunk at 50 or even 60 if I work on my health. So why not make the NBA in my 40's. Work on Your F'ing Game! Age is just a few numbers after hitting your teens.

I remember watching this video when I was 15. During my sophomore year of high high school, I’m 20 now, and I thank the Lord that I never gave up on basketball. My confidence in my abilities has skyrocketed since then, and I’ve gotten way better in all areas of my game.

I'm 16 now, but I started at age 14 and I'm x10 better then most guys at my school that started at 7.. I don't think its how long you do something, but how you do it. I train nearly everyday..

I’ll be 27 this coming August. And I realized basketball is the only thing that really makes me happy and the only time I really socialize fr . I’m a big introvert. And procrastinating been kicking my ass and being told “ no you can’t play basketball, go get a job ” has shifted my mindset. I came for some inspiration fr

I'm 16, just 5'10" tall, live in germany and only started playing basketball. I'm not too athletic (I have a max reach of only 9'10"), and I see people in my age already posterizing, breaking ankles with sick handles, being confident shooters and players in general, and it makes me wonder, will I ever be able to catch up? I'm still too scared to join a team. I'm scared the coach wouldn't let me in because he doesn't see any value in me, I'm scared everyone else is just far better than me, I'm scared they'll make fun of me, or that I'll hold them back and they get angry at me. I'm extremely shy in general and get nervous when I talk to new people sooo easily, but I really want to be successful. I've been training for about 6 hours or even more every day, even if it's raining, even if it's so dark that I can't see the rim, and I don't even want to think about how much better than me others in my age are, because I know if I do it's going to demotivate me.

Now Good Health, strength, dexterity, mental, spiritual, and physical balance is everything! Get out of whack on such and suffering losses are imminent. So do your research, find your balance in this life. Basketball is fun, but not everything it's just one of many outlets to achieve physical excellence and true happiness if one learns to truly excel in it all. Age doesn't matter!

Thanks a lot. I really appreciate this. I'm 16 and to tell you the truth I'm not very good at all. Everyone says it too. They think just because I'm Indian I'm not nice. But I don't care I'm the only one who stays in the gym after everyone is gone and the first one to be in there. Your videos are really inspiring. I watch them all the time. Thank you a lot I really mean it.

as a 38 year old who first started playing at age 18 and stopped playing at 23, I started playing again after a 13 year hiatus. I had to relearn how to dribble with my left hand again and shoot properly. But now after playing casually and semi-organized at a sports class for the past 2 years, I'm thinking of joining a basketball club here in germany for the first time in my life, competing against 18-25 year olds. Its never too late.

This changed my motivation to keep trying hard and to keep getting better because if i put in the work, i know i can be a great player even though i started much later than alot of my friends who play high school ball. Thankyou so much Dre!

As someone who played basketball for the first time at 7 years old and is now 42 years old this message hits home. I took 5 years off because I didn't believe that I could be playing basketball. I'm now spending 2 years getting back in shape. Never was a great basketball player but love the game and knew the game.
