very strange. the video has published in 2013 and i am watching this video right now. today's date is 2017 and i married last year in 2016 as you mentioned the example in the video. ^_^

Your arguement for the present perfect does not hold up. Why not just say *Did you see the movie* of course the ever adverb is extra. For a non native speaker of English. You are trying to distinguish what is different between simple past and *Perfect* . I don:t think you have done that here
