The Batman 2 is a few years away at the least but after the ending of Matt Reeves first film, there's plenty to talk about surrounding what route he could take. But what inspired storylines or villains would you like to see in a sequel?

To be honest, Reeves can make another 20 Batman films for all I care. I'm absolutely loving his interpretation of Batman, the tone, Gotham, filmmaking, everything. There's so much more he can add to this world he's started.

My prediction: there will be a fairly short timeskip, Gotham is still flooded, some people look up to Batman as a hero and this way someone may be inspired to become a vigilante of his own (Robin), while others see him as a menace and blame him for the events that took place (Mr. Freeze). The flood is the perfect plot point for Mr. Freeze to freeze it and give us a snowy aesthetic for the movie. Meanwhile, Penguin becomes the biggest crime lord in the city and becomes a major threat for Batman.

Professor Pyg, Hush, Scarecrow and Mr. Freeze are all villains I'd love to see in Matt Reeve's bat verse

Hush and Court of Owls are two stories that would work perfect for Matt Reeves universe and the detective noir elements they can bring.

Hush or Mr. Freeze would make most sense for a sequel. Save court of owls for the third movie, at the earliest. And imo Joker would be better utilized as cameo hannibal lectar like appearances every so often, rather than making him the main villain.

I think the most realistic guess at what Pt 2 will look like is a no man’s land beginning maybe a year after the end of Pt 1. Bruce has created his playboy persona and is trying to save Gotham both as Batman and Bruce. Maybe Joker escapes, Penguin takes lots of power in Gotham, the court of owls is set up, robin is set up, and Mr Freeze is probably the main antagonist.

I just want them to release Bruce's journal for the first two years.
Like Matt Reeves could create his own IP inside Batman, with Journal, series, movies and possibly future cartoons for characters like Robin, or maybe for some ridiculous characters like Bat mite.

I think Robins death scene from under the red hood would fit in so well in this universe. Maybe in the third movie

I would love to see Hush as the main villain of the next film. Considering he was alluded to in the film, it could be a possibility to have Hush as the next villain.

It has to be Thomas Elliot coming for Bruce knowing his dad got his dad killed. Harvey Dent runs for the DA and becomes Two Face by Sal Maroni who trying to get him in his pocket if he isn't already. Sal is also said to be responsible for Elliots fathers death and likely at war with the Penguin. The Graysons could come to town and be shaken down by Maroni as well ultimately resulting in their death. All the corruption surrounding Harvey's run for DA could also lead to the Court of Owls in 3rd installment. And Bruce could adopt Grayson at the end of the second and train him in the 3rd with Alfred. Renewal gave me ReNuYu vibes too

Personally the villains I would love to see in the sequel (and my ideas for how they could be adapt) are:

2nd movie
Mad Hatter - A former inventor who lost his girlfriend, Alice during Gotham's flood. This caused him to go insane and begin to hunt down girls and, with the use of special drug, try to control them and turn them litteraly into his Alice. However the drug effects are temporary and when the girl show sign of resisting his control, Mad Hatter freaks out and kill her, felling regret later on and then moving to hunt down another victim. Ventriloquist and Scarface - He could be a mobster with slip personality who would be at war with Penguin for the control of Gotham underworld. When he learns about Mad Hatter's drug he would make a deal with the villain: His gang would kidnapp some girls for the Hatter to control and in exchange, the Hatter would give amount of his special drug so the Ventriloquist can sell and slowly becomes Gotham's biggest crime boss.

Both villains (a insane inventor suffering from the loss of a loved one and desire for companion, and a Ventriloquist who is abused by his doll) would work as contrast to Batman and his arc, which would have Bruce adopting a young Dick Grayson, whose parents were killed in a accident caused by Ventriloquist's gang, with Batman helping the kid deal with his loss and trains to become Robin, finding a new purpose as mentor and a father figure for Dick Grayson.

3rd movie
Hugo Strange - He could be one of Arkham's doctor with obsession for Batman. To capture the hero, he could help the villains (Joker, Riddler, Mad Hatter, Ventriloquist, Poison Ivy and Killer Croc) to take over the Asylum and set up a trap for the Dark Knight. As the movie develops it could be revealed thknows that Batman is Bruce Wayne and he want to take his place because Strange belives that Bruce is fated to become insane since his mother was part of the Arkham family. This would make his journey to become villain very ironic: He goes all the way beliving in his idea that Batman will become insane only for him to become the one that goes mad in the end.

Love your content. Definitely would want to see Hush alongside Freeze like we had with Riddler and Oz.

I think a no man’s land adaptation influenced by Gangs of New York with a main villain of Mr Freeze would be my dream second film. An Arkham city type story in a crime ridden Gotham would be amazing for a slightly matured Battinson

I think that as Batman gets more experience, reeves should portray him as stronger too especially if they introduce villains such as bane

I definitely want to see Jason Todd in a sequel. This also may not be popular, but I hope that we don’t see joker in the next movie since the character is too much like riddler. I hope Penguin is the primary villain in the next one with the Joker and the Court of Owls in the third film.

The things I want to see the most are Mr. Freeze, Dick Grayson (and hopefully, eventually, Jason Todd), Hush, and the Court of Owls. The Mad Hatter, Professor Pyg, the Ventriloquist, Hugo Strange, etc all would work well, but those are what I am *really* itching for. Maybe not in the direct sequel, but at least further on in this continuity.

I'd personally love Black Mask. Have Bruce Wayne start to emerge has a public figure and CEO of Wayne Enterprise, and have this rivalery developing between Roman Sionis and Bruce Wayne. A winter setting with Mister Freeze would be really cool as well, especially with a Flooded Gotham, but the only problem for me is that Mister Freeze is borderline into the realm of the fantastical. So, if they figure out a way to make him more grounded, I'm all for it. Whoever the vilain is, the Penguin has to be a part of it. Seeing him take more control over the Gotham underworld, and he could sometimes serve has an informant to Batman if it benefits him, just like he did in the first movie. They could introduce Harvey Dent as the new D.A, but only have him become Two-Face in the third one, to give him a chance to develop a meaningful relationship with Batman and Gordon and make an impact on the war on crime in Gotham City.

No Robin, Batgirl or Nightwing. I don't want Batman to have a sidekick, because I want the focus to be entirely on him, his inner demons and struggles. At this point of the story he's not yet ready to be a father figure, and I always thought that the idea that Batman would carry a child with him and put him in danger in a direct combat situation with murderers and criminals is ridiculous and pure child endangerement. Batman doesn't need another partner, Catwoman already fills that role perfectly, she's not a sidekick, she is his equal and works on both sides of the law, which makes her all the more interresting. In my opinion if they want to introduce Robin, they should only do it if they make six Batman films in this universe. The first trilogy should focus on a young and less experienced Bruce Wayne, figuring out what it means to be a symbol of hope and struggling not to cross the blurry line between vengeance and justice. The second trilogy should focus on an older, more experienced and fully fledged Batman, training and being a mentor and father figure to Dick Grayson's Robin.

Whatever Matt Reeves has in store for us, I'm excited for it.
