Plot details are still under wraps for Matt Reeves' The Batman sequel, and there are several possibilities for who is the villain of The Batman - Part II. Robert Pattinson's Batman began his cinematic journey by encountering a handful of prominent DC villains from the comics. This included Penguin (Colin Farrell), Riddler (Paul Dano), and Carmine Falcone (John Turturro). The Batman's ending also included the surprise tease of a new Joker (Barry Keoghan) stationed at Arkham State Hospital. The confirmation that The Batman 2 is happening despite DC Studios' new leadership under James Gunn means the story will continue in some fashion.

Since Joker is the biggest Batman villain in the comics, it should only be a matter of time before Matt Reeves fully unleashes the character. This happening in The Batman 2 would create even more comparisons between the movie and The Dark Knight, as well as how Keoghan's portrayal stacks up to Heath Ledger's Joker. That creates a fascinating challenge for Reeves to make sure the sequel and his version of the villain stand out from what came before.

There's usually a "mastermind" villain and a "brute" villain. Joker is obviously THE mastermind in The Batman universe, but are we gonna see a brute one in this movie? Saw a poster today that had Clayface in the background...hopefully Clayface then?

Aw man it's gonna be the joker?...I love the last batman movie cause it was about the riddler, which he desperately needed another movie. We need a dark movie for poison ivy or even Mr. Freeze, because it's getting kinda old to see every batman movie consist of the joker 😅

This Batman, and this Bruce Wayne for that matter, are different than any other. So much more depth to him. Robert is a brilliant actor, one of the best. I’m extremely curious to see where he takes this. This role with this actor is a powerful combination!!!

I wonder how the third act will play out? Would we find out that Gotham was built under a sink hole that it is held by multiple supports and the joker will try to blow them up and enjoy the view right where the collapse will happen

I love how they added the realism of insanity to this movie's joker: it takes place when Batman is in his mid 20s likely, so the joker should also be rather young, but I learned from "The Curious Case of Charles Dexter Ward" by Lovecraft that insanity ages a person quicker.
