Archinstall Script

CORRECTION: after uncommenting the wheel group, I forgot to add thr user to the group itself. To dl this run "usermod -aG wheel username"

The archinstall script comes with the Arch ISO. I already had a look at this script a couple of months ago when it was introduced. This is take 2.

Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. Your videos are great. I imagine that it was missing to insert the user in the wheel group (usermod -aG wheel ermanno). In my tests I used gdisk and formatted the partitions (mkfs.fat -F 32 /dev/sda* and mksf.ext4 /dev/sda*) before using archinstall. In the option to select the partitions used in the script I informed the mount point only (option 4 - /boot and / - I didn't separate / and /home.) and it worked fine. What didn't work satisfactorily was creating a swap partition. Selecting the option for zram in the script works fine.

This script is very useful for those like me who likes to test out different DE's and want a fresh arch install. But for my host OS I usually install arch manually.

Hey Ermanno. Just getting around to watching your video now as I short circuited and blew up my main desktop last week (have to watch internet and do some lite computing with my daughter's crappy Windoze laptop... arrrrg!). Thanks again for running through yet another way of installing Arch.

What's the difference between the sudo group and the wheel group? Is there an advantage or is it just the standard convention...?

Ermanno I want your opinion. I have found out that intel-ucode and amd-ucode are non libre so is necessary to install these packages ?
I tried parabola linux some time and i found out this packages are not present in it because they are not open source.

Hey man, have you tried installing arch with btrfs? It seems that there were some changes in the dec 2021 iso. I have to download nov 2021 iso since the mounting options is different from previous installation. Your next video for installing, can you do btrfs? Thanks
