After 3 years of fiddling around with various arch based distros used, i have finally came to a conclusion that nothing is better than a clean archlinux installation with custom dotfiles on hyprland.

6:05 - Might be worth noting: if you are trying to use wireless for internet, you likely wont have internet after booting into the fresh install, running "nmtui" should open a GUI for you to select and setup your network

2:28 note for newcommers: You should almost _never_ do *that.* Since this script is made by Titus himself, I guess you probably can trust it this time, but generally, piping a random shell script from the Internet and immediately running it as it's being downloaded is a bad idea as the person behind the script can do literally _anything_ on your computer if you do that. The more proper way is to download the script, inspect what it actually does, and then run it. Alternatively (since in case of arch live ISO, you may be restricted in what you can do), download the script on a secondary computer (where you have a fully configured system of any kind), inspect it there, and then on your computer to be configured, you can actually do the `curl link-to-a-script | sh` thing now since you now know it's safe to run

Hey Titus, little tweak for you use the "autodetect timezone" to reflector to select fastest arch mirrors in that "timezone area" rather then searhcing
worldwide fastest arch mirror .. saves time :D

The best thing I tell people about installing any OS is unplug all the drive and only leave the drive you want the OS on it's the safest way to do an install.

I remember years ago my first distro being Gentoo, tiny download, then building everything from source. Fun times.

Of course, one likes pure Arch another Arch-based distributions. I, for example, prefer EndeavourOS because after installation everything is ready to use and Endeavour is very close to Arch.

Why auto install this random grub theme?

This is probably the best guide I've seen, I like the author's approach to the ability to choose programs. As a newbie to Linux, everything was very clear to me and I didn't even have a single question. Thank you for the wonderful guide and software.

I ran Arch once. I'll never get that 15 minutes of my life back ever either.

Thank you, this is way more straight forward. Customizing it for hours to your hearts content is nice. But just jumping in with all the tools already at hand is also very nice.

Endeavour, CachyOS, Manjaro, they pick all the packages for you, while you could mess it up yourself, lol. Yes, I'll probably try Arch on a VM and use this guide, and hopefully not mess up. Thank you.

Chris: Don't use Arch derivatives or distros built on the official Arch repos that automate Arch installs and do customizations for you.
Also Chris: Use my script to automate building your Arch system with my custom settings instead!

You stand by your work, I respect that. Just don't forget that the community is stronger together and many of the other projects you mentioned have been at this longer than you. There may still be a lesson in why they chose to do things their way with their own package selections which is why they have their own communities around them. Going your own way is great and can be respected, but never forget that other projects evolve in addition to yours and it never hurts to keep an eye on what others are doing and why they go a certain route. It may give you inspiration for additional options to add to your install scripts.

G'day Chris, have been lurking for a while and it's really awesome to see the progress you and the community have made on this. Not sure if it will be truly appreciated how useful linutil is. Been a Debian guy for over a decade now, but this is tempting to give Arch a go. Fantastic work. Cheers, Sam
