The idea that hallucinogens played a part in the formation of many of the worlds religions and mythologies is not new, and Christianity is no exception.

Propositions for the 'psychedelic sacrament' range from amanita mascara or the fly agaric mushroom (such as in John Allegro's "The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross"), to psilocybin containing mushrooms, to DMT to LSD like Ergot.

An entheogen was likely part of the Mysteries of the Greek Temple of Eleusis, Demeter, Dionysus, Osiris and Mithras as well as Gnosticism, Kabbala, Sufism, Mahayana Buddhism, Shivaism and Shamanism.

Some friends and I were chatting about religion and spirituality. The topic of ritualistic similarities between different religious cultures came up and how even though variables exist, there are striking resemblances as well.
I feel you may have an epiphany from above, which will speak to your heart. Something to do with South America; possibly the Andes mountains…I feel it’ll have to do with Christ. Might be when you’re in deep contemplation.

To very clearly discover Jesus in the historical record see Ralph Ellis. In particular his book titled Jesus - King of Edessa. Don't stop there, Ralph is a GENIUS on numerous levels so suggest exploration through all of his books - I think there are 14 published by him now.
