How to win Savate fights with Chassé Latéral Bas (SIDE KICK).

preview_player
Показать описание
Using Savate Chassé bas (side kick) to control an opponent and score points.

Use the Chassé Lateral Savate kick like a boxer's jab: keep the opponent off-balance, control the distance, stop them advancing.

Make sure you keep front heel on the attack line before, during, and after an attack. Chamber (prepare) the kick on the same line.

There's this fight in youtube where W. Sylla does this very well, winning the fight with a chassé that isn't fully chambered

Hi, thanks for your videos. Has helped to keep savate in my mind during the pandemic. Luckily the situation is getting better. Helsinki is indeed a great place for savate, I practice in the Helsinki Konala savate gym here in Finland.

Thank you from 🇫🇷. Here contact sport forbidden. We do savate at home alone . It feels good to do workout savate in this time of crisis even if It's virtual. Thank you again Sir. 🥊😀🥊

Really like the way you demo your centre line concept at 00:51 showing the line moving with you helps demo this point really well.

Nice, a lethal kick if done to the knee

That’s an excellent way to approach it. I especially like the idea of intercepting them as they attack - stopping and frustrating them while keeping you on range for your follow ups.

Question. How do you find the inline stance against sweeping techniques from your opponent or do you mix your stances as you box to make it hard for them to spot the opportunity?

A little push kick to an opponents lead knee, stops them in their tracks

Beautiful Kick. I practise Jeet Kune Do on this side of the pond, and have really fallen in love with Savate. I've been a Karate guy for years, and have adapted to this style kick vs. the heaviness of the rear leg Karate / Muay Thai style. Do you folks deal with knee injuries often? Thanks for a very nice video, and the inspiration!

Could this approach be used for Joe Lewis-esque Chasse Median/Figure knockouts? I know he wasn't a savateur, but that guy could really throw a side kick....

I have been practicing this and other Chasse/side kick variations. Would you say this is mechanically and tactically the same idea as what many Tae Kwon Do people call a "cut kick"? Not the Thai boxing idea of a cut kick (when they kick out the supporting leg) but they describe it as a 'sparring side kick" with a lower chamber and heel pointing at the opponent?

I like how the savate side kick doesn't chamber all the way to the waist like karate

Maybe im wrong but probably not meant for a street fight since they can grab your leg?

Arrg, that technique is super irritating and totally disrupts my game.
