You never have to break down and over examine the Purdy shuffle.
If you want to be original and make this type of shuffle of your own just do what the man himself has said to do.
Play your shuffles to a sixteenth triplet feel and not
Just a straight sixteenth one.
Thats all.
Dont copy him. Triplet feels swing better and are just more jazzy and theres more places to go with it.
Find your own percussive voice with your own style.

great tutorial! And with it for all who are still struggling I highly recommend practice it with a play along. I found a great one on the channel GRG PROJECT "Half time shufflen(sic!) drumless" (no affiliation though) From this I got it in like 10 minutes. Best method imho. Cheers
