Struggle with making decisions? Or is there a big choice that's keeping you up at night?

Today, I want to hand you a proven way to make better decisions. I'm going to teach you all about the power of objectivity.

It's usually easy for us to give advice to others. Without having a direct emotional tie, the decision-making process can be clear. And research backs this up–we make better decisions for others than we do for ourselves!

The solution? Take an objective, zoomed-out, third-party stance on the decision at hand.

Today, I'm asking "What can Mel do that's best for Mel?" and I want you to do the same.

Let me know in the comments how the power of objectivity can help you can view a current decision through a different lens.

I did this recently. I wanted to move but was worried about my brother. Then I thought to myself, what would my brother do if he had this opportunity. And guess what. He was already thinking about moving himself and not worrying about me. So I’m moving in a couple of months. Thanks Mel ❤️❤️❤️

I literally discovered this by myself naturally over the years. These days when I am freaking out over something or have a problem, I look at it like it's not mine and think of how to tackle it as an outsider. Because yup, we are all amazing advice givers, but suck at following our own talk lol

CPTSD makes decision making so hard because we don’t trust ourselves. My gosh that’s such a great tip. Saying your own name aloud like that is way better than saying ‘I need to do what is best for me’. Slam dunks it right home. Thank you Mel 🖐️

So true. What is needed next is your video on being OK with disappointing other people.

Yes! I often find that other people see more in me than I see in my self. So while I'm dithering about whether or not I can or should do something, a true friend will say YOU CAN ABSOLUTELY DO THIS! And I believe them. But if I have no one on my side, FEAR tends to keep me stagnant.

I’ve been thinking about how I’m going to tell my boss / upper management that I’m changing careers and I kept thinking about how it was going to impact them due to my “whisper from the universe” telling me its time for a change. I was nervous all day today! Now, I’m going to 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.... & do it!

Thank you Mel, thank you, thank you, thank you!

Awesome! I do this for my friends; I ask them, If the situation were reversed, how would you advise me? And leave it up to them, whether they take their own advice or not. Time to take that one step further & ask it of myself. Thanks Mel & much Love
