That’s because the people are on the streets instead of in jail

As a retired Correctional Officer for the state of Pennsylvania, I have firsthand knowledge that the parole system in Pennsylvania does not take the victim into consideration. An inmate that assaulted me was sentenced to 5 to 10 years after finishing his current sentence. The Parole board released him without ever serving even one day of that sentence. Effectively they ignored the Judges orders and the law. I was never contacted about his released. In their effort to release prisoners they paroled 6 inmates to the Philidelphia area that killed their arresting officer with one week of their release. So, for them to brag about reducing the prison population, notice that they have not reduced the tax load they impart on the law-abiding citizens. They only focus that the prison system has is to simply release inmates as quickly as possible. There is no focus on rehabilitation. There is no focus on citizen safety. Like always, it's about the money. Every year the increase the prison budget. Every year they continue to release more and more criminals. Every year the crime rate continues to increase. This is one of the leading causes of the mass exodus of citizens from the state. And it is the reason why so many companies are leaving for safer locations to do business. I have retired to a red state for these reasons also. I feel bad about those who are unable to move out of state. But Pennsylvania gets the government that they allow to manipulate the election process.
