HOW TO FIX: I had this problem on my s21 for months, here how I fixed it. I grabbed one of those green plastic tooth pick/flossing things, I used the pointy plastic tooth pick part and started digging into the charging port to remove build of of dirt, fuzz, whatever. I've done this multiple times before with no success, but guys you REALLY have to spend some time with this, there could be the smallest piece of fabric/dirt on top of the pin that causes this. In my case it was a very thin micro piece of wood sitting in the way back of the port. There could be so much build up packed in on the bottom you might not even realize it. Pick around the USB port for 30 minutes or so and blow after you start removing the junk.

This is NOT a fix. Of course the moisture detection feature does not work while the phone is off and it will charge. The OS is off. As soon as you turn it back on you'll get the error again. Not a solution unless you want to turn your phone off to charge it every time. Edit: I followed someone in the comments advice and used a toothbrush to clean out the port on my son's phone. Worked like a charm.

I think a charging cable caused mine, because no matter what I did to clean it out, nothing worked.
There was no moisture in there, and it as relatively clean.

Here's what worked: turning it off then turning the power back on.

it works! i try to brush the usb w gentle tooth brush once and blow it with a hair dryer for 10 s... at first it didnt work, and once i turn on my phone, the notification is gone. thanks 🙏🏻

Just fixed my sister in laws phone using a toothbrush to clean the port out. She's been having problems ever since she returned from the beach. I grabbed a magnifying glass and looked in the port and it was full of crud. I made sure the port was facing down then used a clean used tooth brush to clean the port and the warning went away and now charges correctly.
