65C9 costs around 3500€ - the 65C8 is currently at 1730€ - I think although I am a gamer and TV series and movie addict I will still go for the C8 - still an excellent TV I guess but half the price

This comparison was over before it started. The picture quality difference is very minimal at best, so only go for the C9 if you want HDMI 2.1 and marginally higher bright levels, otherwise the C8 is just as awesome.

Vertical banding is a very real thing, I bought my C8 about a month-and-a-half ago, and I'm already getting the panel replaced. Buy at your own risk

Having bought the B9 a few weeks ago, I would be fascinated to know what the differences are between it and the more expensive C9 other than a slower processor (Alpha 7 Gen 2 vs. Alpha 9 Gen 2 in the C9) and a narrower stand.

excellent video! I'm deciding between the CX and the E8. Everyone says the CX is the same as the C9. I have an opportunity to grab the CX at the same price as the C9 and I think I'm going to do it. I'm a huge GOT fan and the video explains alot of the black color issues I was seeing.

If the near black performance of the C9 and C8 is really to do with the 22 point white balance control - would a 3D LUT achieve even better near black quality? I noticed on my C6 that when I used MadVR to create a 3D LUT near black performance improved dramatically and noise was reduced. I'd really be interested in the Sony vs LG with near black performance.

I wasn't expecting a better picture quality on the C9. It has some cool features too that make it a better long term investment. Better to wait a bit for the prices to come down though.
