That male ranger did not have a clue and he did not seem happy about his ignorance. I think you handled it pretty well. As EUC's become more in the public eye, there will be specifics on the books about them.

THIS is how to endear yourselves w/LEO Community! If/whenever you're pulled over, don't get snippy or start mouthing off. They're just doing their jobs. Saying that they'll "educate ourselves" is all the more reason to just be nice & civil about the whole episode. SALUTE to all the people involved!

I brought my 4 wheel stainless steel electric bike that I built to a local state park on a trailer. My plan was to ride around on a paved path with my family ( on regular bikes) . The rangers watched me unload it from the trailer along with the rest of the bikes. Then stopped me and told me I couldn't ride it on the path. It really pissed me off because you don't get a lot of time to spend with your family the way it is, and I ended up missing out on spending that day with them. All of the components on that bike came from an electric scooter supply store online and doesn't even go as fast as that unicycle. Anyway thanks for sharing your video. I didn't have a video of my experience but it brought me back to my scenario. Joe

Park rangers wave at me here in Utah but I make sure I don’t go faster than 25 when I’m on state or county owned bike trails. Good info and glad they were reasonable, seemed like they were more curious than anything, maybe they thought they caught em an alien or something.

This is ridiculously funny. That was a great answer when they asked you how fast it was… 25-30, 35 down hill..LOL. I’m gonna use that if I’m ever pulled over. I just don’t understand why they wouldn’t educate themselves before pulling you over. Least they let you go without even a warning. Good stuff.

When cops or rangers stop you, remember that this is our opportunity to make supporters out of them, not enemies. Educate them that these devices are as safe as electric bicycles and have integrated balancing systems, that is almost fail proof just as electric bicycles. Police need to understand that you don't represent danger to yourself or others on the road. Speed - same as electric bicycles. Don't leave them with negative feelings. Make friends out of them that will support us for many years to come.
